If you are expecting a baby, when should you start looking for your pediatrician? There is no set time when you should start looking for a pediatrician and everyone is different. A good time to start would be around the six month mark but, like I said there's no set time.
Many people even start searching for a local pediatrician shortly after you learn your are pregnant. If you have any friends with children, ask them which pediatrician they use. You might also ask coworkers, friends from church or even just a random mom you meet in line at the grocery store. However, remember to take all suggestions with a grain of salt. You'll hear a lot of negative comments. You might even hear a horror story or two. Try to take the advice from a friend you trust.
If you do not have any friends with kids or if you just want some additional advice, you might try to do some online research. Visit sites like Insiderpages.com and read Google Reviews. These are not always 100% accurate so take these with a grain of salt.
You will want to find a pediatrician that has a short wait time and has a good personality. It's probably best to avoid a doctor who has a reputation for very long wait times in the office. While they might be a good doctor, do you really want your sick child to have to wait for hours in the waiting room?
Another option is to ask the lead nurses at the hospital during delivery, they get the first hand experience with pediatricians and often are interacting with them continually. They will happy to review their favorite newborn pediatricians and might steer you clear of the bad ones.
A Google search will likely turn up some immediate results and you will be able to easily locate a Frisco Pediatrician in your area.
